Gambo Race 2008Winning Team 2008Japanese Geishas Oriental Tea House complete with Samurai Warrior
The 2008 event was started by Wales & Ospreys prop Adam Jones and former Wales Captain &
Ospreys Assistant Coach Jonathan Humphreys.
The event was judged by
North Cornelly local County Borough Councillors, Jeff Tidesley and Megan Butcher.
This years event attracted ¼ Million hits on the website in 5 days following the event.

Gambo Race 2007Winning Team 2007Aliens & Spacecraft - Royal British Legion, Pyle
Out of this World... literally, space ships and aliens,
NASA astronauts, Top Gun aircraft pilots, Police
helicopter. The RAF and The Red Baron making
for an aeronautic theme to this years event.
Live entertainment from local rock band Lemon.
The 2007 event was judged by The Mayor of BCBC,
Councillor Mari Jones and her consort, Mrs Violet Cody
together with local County Borough Councillor Jeff
Tildesley.
Gambo Rock FestivalThis year saw the introduction of the Gambo Rock Festival at Pyle RFC. Featured local bands included:
(1) Ziggy Gielstien, (2) Virgin Summer, (3) Temporary Solution, (4) Lemon, (5) Half 'N' Half, Plus Special Guests

Gambo Race 2006Winning Team 2006Bob the Builder - New House Inn, North Cornelly
Started and Judged by local dignitaries, the 2006 event was absolutely enormous.
Amazing Community Spirit were the buzz words - People travelled to the area from as far away as Manchester,
Birmingham, London and Brisbane, Australia to witness this event. The Gambo Race 2006 was even talked about in
central Government for its inginuity, coverage and community spirit.

Gambo Race 2005Winning Team 2005Team F1 Ferrari - New House Inn, North Cornelly
Judged by the legendary Welsh Rugby Team scrum half, Gareth Edwards and Kenfig's Lord of the Manor, Lindsey Morgan.
Visitors came to this years event from as far away as Essex, London, Swindon (most of M4 corridor) -
some were noted as having hired a taxi from Glynneath, West Glamorgan.

Kenfig.org documented the 2004 Annual Gambo Race by popular demand.
Visitors to this years event was were from far and wide - Military Personnel from Royal Marines based in Swindon
actually took part in this years event after having viewed the 2003 event online in Basra, Iraq.

event attracted around 55,000 visitors in the four weeks following the event.

and The New House Inn.
There are limited photos and also noted are the small turn out of on-lookers as opposed to the present day - The
Pondarosa was still open in this year.

Gambo Race 2001Winning Team 2001The Zulus - Crown Inn, Pyle
The Gambo Race traverses a route from the Prince of Wales Inn, Kenfig through North
Cornelly towards Pyle RFC.
Aimed at encouraging local community spirit together with raising monies for local
charities, the Gambo Race has taken on a Carnival Type Atmosphere with each yearly event
captured for posterity exclusively here on Kenfig.org

Gambo Race RouteThe Gambo Race route begins in Kenfig then moves onto Maudlam and North Cornelly before heading towards Pyle for its finish.
