The Kenfig.org Heritage Website ProjectThe website kenfig.org.uk was established by Mr Rob Bowen in March 2003 after its original concept
was devised in the year 2000 during a course of study in Web Publishing at Cardiff University. The comprehensive
website is a one-stop online resource for learning about local history in and around the Kenfig Borough, South Wales.
It's aims are to document the entire history of the Old Kenfig Borough / Old Bro Cynffig from pre-historic times to
the present day and beyond.
It has been established with an overview of encouraging the learning of local history by
one and all, but more importantly, the younger generations who have to learn aspects of history as well as
ICT and Internet Skills which forms a part of the National Curriculum within the United Kingdom.
Kenfig.org operates as a not-for profit making organisation known as Kenfig.org Local Community Group

Serving the Local CommunityKenfig.org local community group serves the initial communities of Kenfig, Maudlam, North Cornelly, South Cornelly,
Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Cefn Cribbwr, Stormy Down and Margam Village. The adjoining communties of Porthcawl, Bridgend together
with Port Talbot are also supported due to their close proximity, historical connections and due to the information being
made available to all through the medium of the Internet. We are documenting the whole, entire history of the immediate area
(Not just Kenfig...) through this website project.
Why this website incorporates the above areas? In medieval times Kenfig was awarded the status of a Borough. The Kenfig Borough or Old Bro Cynffig
included old Kenfig, modern Kenfig, Maudlam (Mawdlam), much of North Cornelly, Marlas, Pyle and some of Kenfig Hill. Kenfig through the Ages [ Learn more about Medieval Kenfig ]

Using the SitemapA more detailed way of finding your way around the website - a separate sitemap is provided for each Main subject heading.Internal Search EngineKenfig.org has its own built-in Search Engine for quickly locating web pages throughout the site - this works very much like Google Search Engine and is located at the Top Right Hand Corner of each webpage.Colour Coded Main SectionsThe Impact of the website & the local Community
